Rev. Heather Blackstone

Rev. Heather Blackstone comes to BFUMC from Occidental College where she works part time as Program Coordinator in the Office for Religious and Spiritual Life. Before joining the staff at Occidental, Heather spent four years as the Pastor of Parish Care at First United Methodist of Glendale where she worked with Dr. Walters.

Although ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2006, Heather is very excited to be able to continue working in Methodist churches as they have been able to find the balance between openness and tradition; two qualities she finds so valuable.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts as well as a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She has worked in numerous areas of church life in addition to being a hospital chaplain, a tutor for students with additional needs and missionary in Mother Teresa’s Home for the Dying in Calcutta.

Heather is married to Antonio Bartolome who is an academic advisor for the Roski School of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California. She and Antonio are thrilled to be finding a new home at Burbank First United Methodist and are looking forward to meeting all of you. Feel free to stop by her office anytime for a chat and a cup of coffee.

Rev. Blackstone’s Pledge to us:
There are so many difficult things that we have to face every day, so many blessing as well as changes. Whether someone is facing a new accomplishment or a new illness, the birth of a child or the death of a loved one, my pledge to the church and the community of Burbank is to be a calm presence as you face the various transitions life can bring.
