Did you know that Los Angeles County has the largest population of homeless in the United States?
In this first post, I will be talking a little about Family Promise. Family Promise is a 30-year-old nationwide organization, although new to Southern California. The Mission of Family Promise is to help homeless children and their families regain sustainable housing.
Family Promise works with congregations in a community. They have a Day Center where the families can go during the day, but at night they stay at a church or synagogue. The congregation provides dinner, food for breakfast and a sack lunch.
