Web Ministry is any and every way that a church can reach out to members, visitors, seekers and leaders through Internet technologies. There is much more to Web Ministry than just having a website!
How is Web Ministry different from having a website?
Web Ministry is not just a place to look for the times of worship services or the address of a church. Web Ministry is about building dynamic and interactive activities and services that expand outreach to connect with billions of users 24 hours a day so that
“Any person, any time, anywhere can become a disciple of Jesus Christ and enter into a life-changing, world-transforming journey of faith, hope and love.” –UMC.org
What does that mean to us here at BFUMC?
That means the world can be our Parish. That means that a searching Youth in Oregon or Florida could have support and fellowship when he is lonely and unsure. That means a single mother in Ohio could interact with the Young Adults in our congregation and get advice on work/life balance or parenting. That means that people anywhere in the world could attend worship AT OUR CHURCH on Sunday mornings or anytime.
How can we make use of Internet technology to be in ministry to the whole world?
Well, we have already started! Isn’t that nice?
We started small by posting our ministers’ sermons every week so that anyone could read them. We grew our Web Ministry with online Registration Forms for Outreach Programs, Retreats and Church Programs. Our Ministry is growing today with expanded blogs from Pastor Wayne and your Webmaster as well as Audio sermons so that you can listen to this week’s preaching from any computer around the world.
But there is so much more that we can do!
